Discover the Catholic story through the story of Catholic France, called the “Eldest Daughter of the Church.” From the Martyrs of Lyon during the Roman Empire, through the glorious Gothic cathedrals and the rise of the universities in the Middle Ages, to the great saints of the 19th and 20th centuries, this course will explore some of Catholicism’s greatest moments and accomplishments. We will hear the stories of people like St. Joan of Arc, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Francis de Sales, and St. Therese of Lisieux, as well as holy Catholic sites like Lourdes, Chartres Cathedral, and Mont Saint-Michel.
