Class Description

This one-night class will give a brief outline of the Catholic Church’s most important documents about marriage and the family, including Pope St. Paul VI’s Humanae Vitae (“On Human Life”) and Pope St. John Paul II’s Familiaris Consortio (“The Christian Family in the Modern World”), Theology of the Body, and Love and Responsibility.

This class will put into understandable and practical form the deep mysteries that both of these Holy Fathers offered to all of us as a plan of how to live our Catholic faith in today’s culture on a day-by-day basis. The instructor will integrate the core teachings of these writings into examples from our current culture that will show us how to live in a positive, involved way within our world, and will offer many opportunities to discuss why the culture is often confused about what human persons need for a life of joy, lifelong commitment, and suffering that comes from living with one another day-to-day in faith.

LANE classes are incredibly interesting and truly help to open up my faith in many ways.
