Pope Leo's First Moves
Course 3 in the "Habemus Papam: The Dawn of Pope Leo XIV's Papacy" Series
As we near the one-year anniversary of Pope Leo XIV's election on May 8, 2025, this reflective four-session course examines the early contours of his papacy, focusing on his commitment to weaving the Church's ancient wisdom, liturgy, and spirituality into the fabric of a rapidly changing 21st century. Drawing from his initial actions and statements—such as calls for ethical frameworks in artificial intelligence to safeguard human dignity, bioethical priorities amid technological advances, and renewed efforts toward full communion with the Eastern Orthodox Churches as the 1,000-year anniversary of the Great Schism (1054-2054) approaches—this series discerns how his vision of continuity and unity is taking shape.
