Equip Yourself for Evangelization
Bishop Walkowiak Introduces LANE
Jesus is calling us to make disciples and to be his witnesses on the Lakeshore, in West Michigan, and to the ends of the earth. The Lakeshore Academy for the New Evangelization (LANE) is a school of adult discipleship that proclaims the Gospel to all people and empowers our regional Catholic community to live out Christ’s mission.

Dr. Ray Guarendi
The Logic of Being Catholic
September 17, 7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Parish
Dr. Ray Guarendi is a Catholic father of ten adopted children, a clinical psychologist, author, professional speaker, and national radio and television host. He will share his story of how logic led him home to the Catholic Church.
In addition to his LANE Leadership Series talk, Dr. Guarendi will teach the first night of SOC 201: Introduction to Catholic Social Teaching on September 18. His session is titled “The Call to Family, Community, and Participation.”
The Catechism tells us that we come to know God through Truth, Goodness, and Beauty. From its beginning, the Roman Catholic Church has been on a quest to know and serve Christ through these virtues. The stories of three cities exemplify this quest: Rome, Assisi, and Florence. We will make pilgrimage to these cities, learning their stories and listening to how we must faithfully continue our ancient quest for what is True, Good, and Beautiful. In so doing, we will learn to love our Lord all the more, striving to become the salt and light that he calls his Church to be.
