How Can We Become Holy in the New Year?

Whether or not you make new year's resolutions, it's only natural to think about how we can improve ourselves as time marches on. The most important way we can get better is to grow in holiness and closeness with God. But what does that look like, practically speaking? How can we cooperate with God's grace to achieve holiness?

Thankfully, a saint and doctor of the Church is here to help.
In France, around 1600, St. Francis de Sales wrote a series of letters to a young woman counseling her on practicing her Catholic faith amidst the distractions and temptations of daily life. These letters became the timeless spiritual classic, Introduction to the Devout Life.

In an upcoming LANE course in 2024,Letters from a Saint: A Path of Practical Holiness, participants will explore St. Francis' insights on transforming everyday experiences into opportunities for spiritual growth and learning to navigate life's challenges with grace, virtue, and devout intention. Each session will illuminate a different facet of the devout life, from the foundational principles of prayer and repentance to the art of cultivating virtue and the strength to withstand temptation. This course is a practical guide for anyone aspiring to deepen their spiritual life.

This course begins on Monday, February 19, 2024. We hope you'll join us!
